About this provider
Brooklyn Aikikai is a dedicated aikido school for children aged 6 to 14. Classes are held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoons, with orientation sessions for new students in September. Parents can enroll their kids twice a year, starting in January and September. The dojo offers a comprehensive program that includes learning etiquette, basic moves, and how to tie the belt during the orientation. Monthly membership fees vary based on a sliding scale, making it accessible to families of different financial backgrounds. Experienced instructors like Kate Savoca, who holds a godan rank, guide students in developing physical strength, flexibility, and important life skills such as focus, perseverance, and respect. Joining Brooklyn Aikikai means embracing a tradition-rich environment where children can grow both physically and mentally.
